NABC

Our brewing system.

Elliott Bay Metal Fabricating manufactured the brewing system originally installed by the New Albanian Brewing Company in 2002.  This includes a mash tun, brew kettle, two fermenting vessels and two conditioning tanks, with a normal batch size of four (4) barrels, or 124 gallons.

In its original incarnation, NABC’s brewing system was used from 1995 through 1998 by the Tucker Brewing Company in Salem, Indiana.  Owner Todd Tucker and brewer Don Russell produced a line of American-style ales (Pale Ale, Brown Ale, Smoked Porter, Wheat and Blackberry Wheat) that were kegged and bottled for sale in Southern Indiana.

In 1999, Tucker Brewing Company was purchased by the Silver Creek Brewing Corporation, and the brewing equipment was moved to a site in Sellersburg, Indiana, where it was deployed from 1999 through 2001.  Brewer Michael Borchers, who also served in an administrative capacity in SCBC, continued to brew the Tucker line of ales as well as special draft-only batches.

When Silver Creek Brewing Corporation ceased operations in 2001, the brewing tanks and other components of the redundant brewing operation were purchased by the New Albanian Brewing Company and moved into storage to await construction of the brew house.

In 2005, NABC purchased two 7-barrel fermenters and four 7-barrel serving tanks from DME.  Current brewing capacity is 1,350 barrels per annum. brewery again
