When NABC’s Bank Street Brewhouse opened for business in March, 2009, uniformly glowing reviews for its bill of fare were tempered by an occasional bit of understandable cognitive dissonance:
“Food this good … with beer? Is there a wine list?”
Yes, Kentuckiana; there is a wine list, drawn entirely from our Hoosier wine-making brethren of the Upland Wine Trail, and the Bank Street Brewhouse also stocks a handful of fine Bourbons and Scotches for contemplation neat or on the rocks, but the unwavering emphasis remains our fresh NABC beers, creatively paired with cuisine designed by the supremely talented Chef Josh Lehman … right here in New Albany.
To know NABC is to understand how much we delight in upending conventional wisdom, and with the Bank Street Brewhouse, we’re toppling numerous preconceived notions about beer, food and location — and loving every minute of the learning process.
Furthermore, the Bank Street Brewhouse represents an expansion of an established, existing business from a suburb back intoa reviving downtown, and as such, NABC firmly believes both in a strong future for “progressive pints” of craft beer and the cause of progressivism itself in city of New Albany… and Floyd County, the metro Louisville area and our surrounding region.
Revolutions in craft brewing and local food have prospered by emphasizing artisanal, localized roots, and in like fashion, New Urbanism urges the progressive reuse of cities. Setting up shop as we have in downtown New Albany’s historic, urban core merely completes the circle initiated by the city’s founders almost two centuries ago.
Bank Street Brewhouse takes its inspiration from Europe’s brasseries and
gastropubs. Chef Joshua Lehman’s kitchen offers fresh, creative, locally
sourced dishes ideally suited for pairing with NABC’s legendary lineup of
house-brewed ales and lagers.

What a great place! We were there last evening and had a very relaxing evening. The food was great, and needless to say so was the beer. We really liked the open air concept. Here's to years of success.

We ate there for the first time last week and walked away talking about how perfect the portions were ... between the two of us, we had the pommes frites, the mussels, and the croque monsieur ... oh, and three beers ....... and it was deeeeeeeeelliiicious ..
