No you didn't miss Summer this year, global warming hasn't thrown the Ohio Valley's predictable weather patterns off yet.

Christmas has come early this year at The New Albanian. Sierra Nevada has sent us the great gift of Celebration at a great price. As the mercury and humidity rise we’ll keep the Christmas cheer going with a nice cool class of Celebration. Enjoy the beer and the price ($10 pitchers) while they last and let it bring back the memories of lower temperatures, no toboggans or mittens required.

The atmosphere is literally out of this world, such intellegent ppl running the places and drinking the best ale on the planet , and fantastic food to boot! lol:) Roger, i have to say you're the genius of brewers and w/all the work you put into these breweries as well as all the traveling you do, i have no doubt NABC will become one of, if not The best brewery in the US and the world

these are the types of places i like to go to relax...and to have such comfy, eclectic surroundings and intellegent ppl to talk to at NABC, this is my fav place of all and the others, well, if NABC and Richo's are closed, that'll be the only time the other places will see me, if they see me at all, lol

i feel honored to be an "official" member of NABC, now all i need is a tee shirt and i'll truly be a part of this wonderful group of True ale drinkers. Maybe i should get 2....extra Free Advertising, lol. Thank You Roger for your hard work and great attitude...you're making alot of ppl very happy

(now speaking as the President of the Joey Burns Fan Club...ppl, you don't know what you're missing if you haven't heard him play, especially his original songs....did i say he's an Excellent Brewer also? lol...THIS man should be the next American Idol, and i ain't kidding about that, so if you find out he's playing somewhere, pls be sure to check out his gigs...hopefully Roger will post when and where they'll be in the future...you won't regret going to hear him play, i guarantee that )

250th Anniversary Guinness

It's here!!
Beginning this weekend Richo's will have the 250th Anniversary edition of Guinness. This rare gem will be hard to find, but we'll have it on draft.

Here's what the fine folks at Guinness had to say about it:

Guinness® 250 Anniversary Stout

This is the year to celebrate! That’s why our Master Brewer has created the limited edition Guinness® 250 Anniversary Stout. We used a proprietary brewhouse process that combines the use of stout and ale malt for a distinctive carbonated stout with a clean, smooth finish. This is the first new Guinness® stout we’ve introduced to the US since we first started importing Guinness® Draught in 1967, but it’s only available for a limited time.

Favorite Beer?

I thought of just having a simple poll in regards to this giant topic, but how a semi-intelligent approach? How's about you just list your Top 3 beers and a little bit of the why associated with said beer. You can list in order of godliness but I've chosen to present them in random order.

Beer I've come to love -

Community Dark - The best locally brewed Dark beer I've ever tasted. Smooth, robust and as drinkable as water. Guess where you can find it on tap with the best pizza i've ever consumed? If you don't know, why are you here?

Köstritzer - IMHO, the best Schwarzbier in production, which is probably why it's producers have been in the business of beer since 1543. Sweet, hearty and filling. Served on tap in the summer at Zaa's on Bardstown Road in the heart of Louisville. Ok out of the bottle, but it's lack of availability on tap near me is a nail in it's coffin.

Pabst Blue Ribbon - It's cheap, it's not too sweet and it's 8 dollars for a 12 pack in either bottles or cans. It's not the best beer I've ever had, but it's not bad, especially within the confines of these dire financial times. Beat Bud out of the tap for me, any day.
